Repair of County Bridge No. E0304, Harlingen Road over Pike Run, Township of Montgomery
Somerset County Bridge No. E0304 on Harlingen Road, located by the entrance to Montgomery Veteran’s Park, will be fully closed to through traffic for bridge repairs. The existing bridge will have various structural elements repaired and rehabilitated. A detour route has been established using Belle Mead Griggstown Road (CR 630) and US Route 206. The road was closed on Monday, September 9, 2019 10:30AM for the start of construction activities. Full road closure and detour is expected for 3 weeks. [updated 9-9-2019]
The purpose of this project is to restore the structural capacity of the bridge through rehabilitation of the existing substructure and superstructure. The concrete substructure will be repaired and patched. The timber superstructure will have its loose deck clips replaced and reset as needed and flood debris protection measures will be installed. Other repairs include construction of new asphalt riding surface and guide rail repairs.
This project is funded through County Capital for 2019 as part of a 3 bridge repair package (Contract #19006) which also includes rehabilitation work at Bridge H0812 Thompson Avenue in Bridgewater and Bridge D0105 Great Road (CR 601) in Montgomery.
