The County History Partnership Program was created in 2015 by the New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) to extend the administration of local re-granting programs to all of the state’s 21 counties. This program enables the NJHC to support existing and emerging local history organizations, and other eligible non-profit organizations providing history projects, programs, services to benefit diverse public audiences.
The Historic Preservation Grant Program is administered by the Somerset County Cultural and Heritage Commission with assistance from County Planning Board staff. Eligible applicants for funds from the program are Somerset County government, municipal governments within Somerset County and non-profit organizations as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code of 1986 whose purpose includes historic preservation.
