What is the Medical Reserve Corps?

Medical Reserve Corps, or MRC is a network of volunteers who engage with local communities to strengthen public health, reduce vulnerability, build resilience, and improve preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities.

What do MRC Volunteers do?

MRC volunteers supplement existing local public health initiatives such as:

  • Outreach and prevention
  • Immunization programs
  • Blood drives
  • Case management and care planning

How often does MRC meet?

The Somerset County MRC holds quarterly meetings which usually involve some type of training.  The MRC Coordinator will communicate via email in between meetings to offer volunteer opportunities to members, or to send out important information regarding additional training or information.

How can I become a part of MRC?

If you would like to become a part of  the Somerset County Medical Reserve Corps or if you have additional questions, please contact our MRC Coordinator, Alyssa Alessandra at Alessandra@co.somerset.nj.us
