4-H Members ”learn by doing.” Standard 4-H Clubs, for members in grades 4-13, are organized around a common interest and meet regularly under the guidance of volunteer leaders. Members may participate in the annual Fair, give presentations, attend camps, travel on 4-H trips, serve their communities, and much more. There is much diversity in project areas including arts, sciences, animals, and recreational activities.
4-H Prep is a non-competitive, exploratory program for children in grades 1-3, organized by volunteer adult and teen leaders. Preppers attend club meetings and special educational and recreational events planned just for them.
The Somerset County 4-H Association supports these clubs by owning and operating the Ted Blum 4-H Center, by organizing the Somerset County 4-H Fair, and by coordinating fundraisers and other events.
The 4-H Pledge: I pledge my Head to clearer thinking, my Heart to greater loyalty, my Hands to larger service, and my Health to better living, for my club, my community and my world.
