Penelope the Powerful Parrot Curriculum is an interactive experience for all ages that empowers learners to feel heard and understood. Through art, storytelling, movement and song, it provides an opportunity to discuss COVID-19, and learn skills to lessen the effects of the pandemic and other traumatic events.

The Somerset County Richard Hall Community Health & Wellness Center obtained a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The grant funds Hope and Healing – a free crisis counseling program that is available to all county residents who have been emotionally impacted by the pandemic. Professional counselors at Hope and Healing conduct essential services through virtual meetings via Zoom, phone sessions and community partnerships.
