QAL, the Question & Answer Line, was established in 2014 by Juvenile Institutional Services in cooperation with the Office of Youth Services and the County Council for Juvenile Justice System Improvement. It is a resource line for parents, caregivers and other concerned adults to receive information about the juvenile court process as well as information about local support services (crisis intervention, behavioral health resources, substance abuse resources, etc) after a minor has had a police contact. Callers can access this line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All calls and e-mails will be returned within 24 hours. All calls are confidential and there is no cost or fee to the youth or family for this service.
