County-Operated Senior Centers Offer Virtual Programs
COVID Closures Extended for County-Operated Senior Wellness Centers
Office on Aging & Disability Services Are Temporarily Closed to Walk-Ins
All Somerset County-operated senior wellness centers will continue to adhere to public health guidelines for the safety of its clients and caregivers by remaining temporarily closed until Aug. 31. County staff is diligently working to provide food deliveries and remote services.
Currently, senior wellness centers are operating under a “new normal” with activities and programs available remotely for anyone age 60 and above. Although the senior centers are closed for onsite activities, clients can participate in many of their favorite classes via Zoom in the comfort of their own home.
Meals on Wheels will continue to deliver hot and/or frozen meals, five days a week according to each client’s meal-delivery schedule.
The Office on Aging & Disability Services are closed to walk-ins, but the staff is available to answer calls and assist with curbside service. A client’s need for curbside service will be determined over the phone by staff. For those who are seeking assistance, call 908-704-6346 or toll-free at 1-888-747-1122. Clients are asked to leave a brief message with their name and phone number, and calls will be returned as soon as possible.
