Somerset County Celebrates National County Government Month

SOMERVILLE, NJ – In recognition of National County Government Month, Somerset County is hosting a live meet and greet Zoom information session titled “Where There’s a Will We Can Help: With Surrogate Tina Jalloh” to be held on Thursday, April 8 at noon. Learn about how to probate a will and more when Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson speaks with the Surrogate. The event is open to the public and will include a Q&A period at the end of the session. Registration is required. Click here to register.
The Surrogate’s Office handles the probate of wills and qualifies executors, administrators, trustees and issues the necessary documents for administering estates. As custodian of the funds belonging to minors’ estates, it oversees the minors' assets and expenditures until the minor reaches majority. The surrogate also processes mental incompetencies, conservatorships and manages all adoptions of minors and adults.
