South Bound Brook P.T.O. Treasurer charged with theft

 SOUTH BOUND BROOK, N.J. – Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and South Bound Brook Chief of Police Jeffrey Titus announced the arrest of Renee Wilson, age 35 of Elizabeth Street, South Bound Brook, New Jersey.

 

Prosecutor Robertson stated that the South Bound Brook Police Department received a report of theft from the South Bound Brook Parent Teacher Organization (P.T.O) when irregularities in the organization’s financial accounts were discovered. After receiving the report, the South Bound Brook Police Department, with the assistance of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, initiated an investigation into the missing funds. The investigation revealed that monies from the South Bound Brook Parent Teacher Organization were stolen and misused by defendant Wilson who served as the P.T.O’s treasurer. 

Prosecutor Robertson stated that defendant Wilson was charged with one count of 3rd degree Theft. On Monday, November 18, 2019, she surrendered to police, was processed and released on her own recognizance. Additional charges maybe pending.

                      Note: We are required by the Rules of Court to include herein a statement explaining that the charges are merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
