Seeking Performance Artists for Diversity Festival

Wanted: Talent in Somerset County

SOMERVILLE – Somerset County Freeholder Director Brian D. Levine has announced that performance artists who reflect the county’s diversity, are being sought to display their talents at the upcoming Diversity Festival. Six slots are available for those who are interested. The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Somerville.

The county is offering a fixed payment rate of $100 per musician, not to exceed $1000 per band. All other artists or performers will receive a fixed rate of $200. The time slots that need to be filled are 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., 12 to 12:45 p.m., 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., 1:15 to 1:45 p.m., 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. and 2:15 to 3 p.m. 

Preference will be given to performance artists/groups that are based in Somerset County and have experience with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the State Teen Arts Festival, a neighboring County Cultural & Heritage Commission, an established non-profit arts organization, or any artist who is a qualified professional in his or her field.
