Seeking Public Input for Somerset County Preservation Plan

Make an Impact, the County is Counting on Your Feedback

Post Date:07/11/2019

SOMERVILLE – Somerset County Freeholder Brian G. Gallagher, planning liaison, is encouraging residents to provide their input about the Somerset County Preservation Plan’s recommended goals and strategies for farmland preservation, historic preservation and open space. The county Planning Board is accepting comments until Wednesday, July 31.

Recently, the board presented recommended goals and strategies for each element of the preservation plan at a third public meeting. Since comments from residents will be used to help finalize the plan, your feedback is extremely important.

The new Somerset County Preservation Plan supports land-use and historic preservation in the county through partnerships and funding. It will augment the 2000 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan Update, the 2008 Comprehensive Farmland Preservation Plan and will help the planning board develop a new Historic Preservation Plan.
