Entries Sought for Senior Art Exhibit
Cultural & Heritage Helps Cultivate Those Who Create
SOMERVILLE – Calling all artists who are age 60 and above. Freeholder Shanel Y. Robinson, human services liaison, invites eligible residents to submit one of their original creations to the Somerset County Senior Art Exhibit in the county’s Cultural & Heritage Gallery at the county Administration Building, located at 20 Grove St. Artwork will be displayed from July 30 to Sept. 13. The deadline to register is Tuesday, July 16.
To be eligible for the juried exhibition, applicants may submit one original artwork that has been created within the last three years, and artwork that has been previously submitted to the Somerset County Senior Art Show is not allowed. Entry forms must be completed and received by the deadline. Submissions will be accepted in any of the following categories: watercolors, oils, acrylics, digital/computer art, photography, pastels, drawings, mixed media, sculpture and printmaking.
A reception and awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27. First-place winners in the professional and non-professional categories will have their work displayed at the New Jersey State Senior Art Show, from Sept. 23 to Oct. 25, at Meadow Lakes Senior Living in East Windsor.
All entrants must be registered, and their artwork should be show-ready and labeled when delivered.
