Did you know that Somerset County has its own YouTube channel? Our videos, which feature a variety of topics, including a brand new county services video, can be found at http://bit.ly/MySCNJYouTube.

“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is worth a thousand pictures,” said Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione. “The county conveys information in a variety of ways, including e-bulletins, our website, newsletters, media outlets, Facebook and Twitter. YouTube is one more communication tool that we use to connect with the public.”

“Whether you’ve lived here all your life or are a relative newcomer, I encourage you to take a look at the ‘Somerset County New Jersey’ YouTube channel,” said Freeholder Director Scaglione. “Our channel includes short videos that highlight county events, ceremonies and announcements.”

For example, if you’re interested in the 2018 Weekend Journey Through the Past that will be held Oct. 13 & 14, you can visit the Somerset County New Jersey channel on YouTube to see what it’s all about.

If you attended Washington School in Raritan, but missed the monument dedication, you can visit http://bit.ly/MySCNJYouTube to view the highlights.  Or you can listen to the announcement about Somerset County’s electric vehicles initiative and other county programs.

“We also plan to post ‘how to’ public service announcements in the near future. If you subscribe to our YouTube channel, you’ll be able to see new videos as they become available,” said the Freeholder Director.

“In emergency situations, we will continue to rely on our emergency alert bulletins, our website and our Facebook and Twitter pages to communicate with the public,” he added.

The new Somerset County Services video offers a quick glimpse of county programs and services, including the offices of the County Clerk, Sheriff and Surrogate, 911 Communications, Transportation, the county Office on Aging and Disability Services, Public Health & Safety, Roads & Bridges, Recycling, the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission, Veterans Services and the Somerset County 4-H Fair. The length of the video is just under 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
