Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione has announced that and have released 2018 rankings that place Somerset County at or near the top in a variety of areas.

“Somerset County consistently shines in quality-of-life amenities and financial stability,” he said. “We’re very proud to have been recognized once again by these two websites.” names Somerset County No. 1 in New Jersey among Best Counties to Live In, Healthiest Counties, Best Counties for Families and Best Counties for Outdoor Activities. Somerset County is ranked third in the state among Best Counties for Millennials and Counties with the Best Public Schools and 11th among the state's Most Diverse Counties. Nationally, Somerset County is in's Top 50 for Best Counties for Families (29) and Best Counties to Live In (44).

Somerset County is No. 21 in the 2018 ranking of the Happiest Counties in America. also ranks Somerset County third in New Jersey for financial health.

SCDOH provides essential public health services to our contract communities including:

  • Maternal and Child Health
