The Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services operates seven Multi-Purpose Senior Centers.

 If you enjoy interacting with seniors, there are volunteer opportunities to lead programs or participate in activities at one or more of the centers.  People are needed to:

* Entertain (music or singing)

* Teach simple crafts

* Watercolor painting

* Lead a dance or exercise group

* Play cards and games

* Present travel slide or movie shows

            * Start or lead a Men’s club

* Present programs on humor, cultural foods and holiday customs, medical advances, senior law, cooking, health and wellness or special hobbies 

Please call the senior center directly to speak to a center manager about a program or activity. Programs are generally held from 11 a.m. –
12 p.m.  Because lunch is served at noon, we request that activities are completed by this time.

Kitchen Volunteers

Volunteers can help pack meals for the Meals on Wheels program, or portion and serve lunch at one of the centers.

Meals on Wheels are provided on a donation basis to people who are homebound, 60 years of age and older and unable to provide or cook meals themselves, or are without someone to prepare meals for them.

The Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services is looking for kitchen volunteers to work in the following senior centers: 

Raritan Senior Center (Raritan) – Thursday; 9:30 -11:30 a.m.

Somerset County Senior Wellness Center (Bernards) - Monday, Thursday and Friday; 10 -11:30 a.m.

Warrenbrook Senior Center (Warren) - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 8:30 -10:30 a.m. 

Volunteer Host or Hostess

Are you a warm, friendly person who enjoys people? Volunteers hosts/hostesses are needed to help register new senior center members, by phone or in person.  Help is needed at the following senior centers: 

Somerset County Senior Wellness Center (Bernards): Monday through Friday,
9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.

Montgomery Senior Center (Montgomery): Monday, Thursday and Friday,
10 -11:30 a.m.
