Summer Concerts
The county Park Commission is again offering free summer concerts at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater. The final two of the season will be Aug. 23 and 30. Bring along canned food donations to benefit the Food Bank Network of Somerset County.

Somerset County wants to recognize the efforts of individuals, businesses and organizations that advocate, serve and include persons with disabilities. Deadline is Sept. 1.

A brief ceremony at the county’s 9/11 Memorial in Somerville will be held Friday, Sept. 11, starting at 8:46 a.m.

The next monthly recycling drop-off and the next Household Hazardous Waste drop-off day both will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at different locations.

Two backyard-composting workshops will be held Sept. 15 at the 4-H Center in Bridgewater. Pre-registration is required.

The annual Weekend Journey Through The Past will be held Oct. 10 and 11. More than 25 historic sites throughout Somerset County will be open free to visitors.
