2009 Budget Introduced
The Board of Freeholders introduced the proposed 2009 Somerset County budget last month. A public hearing is scheduled for March 17 at 7 p.m.

The Board of Freeholders and the Commission on the Status of Women will honor 17 Outstanding Women in Somerset County on March 6.

First Saturday Recycling Drop-off
Recyclable materials, including home electronics, may be dropped off at the Somerset County Recycling Center the first Saturday of every month. The next drop-off date is March 7.

If you’ll be stopping by the Recycling Center on any first Saturday, you also can donate canned goods and other non-perishable food to help struggling families in Somerset County.

A special dinner party will be held April 3 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Somerset County Historic Courthouse. The reservations deadline is March 16.

The first Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off of 2009 will be held Saturday, March 28, at the Bernards Township Public Works Garage.

The Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center provides crisis counseling and ongoing treatment for Somerset County residents who have experienced a disaster-related trauma and for those who are struggling to cope with the recent economic downturn. Call toll-free: 1-888-744-4417 and follow the prompts for the Assessment Center. Additional information about free support groups around New Jersey offered by the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey is available at www.umdnj.edu under News / Events.
