Playing fields in Somerville and North Plainfield will benefit from a new grant program that will help fund municipal and school athletic field upgrades.

Somerset County is seeking additional volunteers for its civilian Medical Reserve Corps. A recruitment and training program is scheduled for Feb. 25 in Hillsborough.

Ballpark Community Box
Requests are being accepted from Somerset County community nonprofit organizations with significant community service or a volunteer element to use the 30-seat community box at the TD Bank Ballpark. Deadline for entries is Feb. 27. A drawing will be held in early March.

The Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center provides crisis counseling and ongoing treatment for Somerset County residents who have experienced a disaster-related trauma and for those who are struggling to cope with the recent economic downturn.
