Did You Know…?

Originally part of Bridgewater Township, Bound Brook is the oldest village in Somerset County.  During the winter encampment at Morristown (1776-1777), General Washington dispatched General Benjamin Lincoln and some 500 men to Bound Brook.  During the Revolutionary War, both the British and Continental Armies conducted forays in and about town for needed supplies.  On April 13, 1777, Lieutenant General Lord Charles Cornwallis sent a British force to attack the outpost manned by General Lincoln's troops (Battle of Bound Brook).  Lincoln and his troops were forced to retreat.   Learn More…
