Wayne J. Forrest, Prosecutor/908-231-7100 Serves as the county’s chief law enforcement officer. Investigates
and prosecutes violations of our criminal laws. Supervises the municipal
chiefs of police and municipal prosecutors and coordinates uniform law
enforcement policy with local police departments within the county.
Operates the county’s Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, Gangs
and Guns Task Force, Emergency Response Teams (S.W.A.T., Crisis
Negotiation, Emergency Medical and Dive Rescue Team), Vehicular Homicide
Task Force and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Team,
Arson Task Force, Forensics Laboratory, Crime Scene Investigation (C.S.I.)
