Responsible for the planning of long-term goals and annual objectives
for the protection of environmental quality and enhancement of life in
Somerset County. Coordinates regional health and environmental
compliance programs with local health departments to ensure the
effective delivery of service. Serves as local health department for the
Borough of North Plainfield, Township of Bedminster and Borough of Far
Hills. As the County LINCS Agency, the Somerset County Health Department
is the lead agency for the public health emergency preparedness and
response team, which provides services related to bioterroism
preparedness and response and other public health threats and
emergencies.
