Eileen V. Popovich, Director/908-203-6080 Protects consumers from unconscionable business practices. Enforces the N.J. Consumer Fraud Act and its accompanying regulations which prohibit fraud, deceit and misrepresentation in the sale and advertisement of goods and services. Evaluates, investigates and mediates consumer complaints against businesses. Educates the consuming public through public outreach including the media, speaking engagements, programs, the “High School Consumer Bowl” competition and Operation Secure Shred. Partners with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to protect against injuries and fatalities associated with consumer products.
