Curbing Hunger Kickoff Event - 6/1/10
Federal, state and county officials joined Curbing Hunger
Inc. board members in announcing the 16th Annual Curbing Hunger food drive to
be conducted throughout Somerset County June 7 through July 2. Residents are
asked to place canned food donations at the curb on their regular recycling
days during those four weeks, using either the special orange plastic bags
tied to their blue recycling buckets, or any plastic grocery bag. The need at
local food banks and food pantries is especially great due to the continuing
economic recession and ongoing flood recovery.
